Throughout the year EmpowerHER hosts gatherings that honor the diversity of the African diaspora through food, storytelling, music, and cultural traditions. These events create opportunities to learn from one another while strengthening pride in our shared histories and communities.
Community Engagement

EmpowerHER believes stronger communities are built through service and collaboration.
Participants volunteer alongside local organizations, attend community events, and build relationships with nonprofit partners throughout Portland. These experiences encourage civic engagement while expanding networks across the Black community.
Shared Experiences
Some of the strongest relationships are built simply by spending time together.
Paint & Sip nights, hiking trips, picnics, wellness days, cookouts, creative workshops, and other social gatherings provide opportunities for women to connect beyond structured discussions while building friendships that continue outside the program.
