Sister Circles
EmpowerHER Sister Circles are the heart of the program. These weekly facilitated gatherings create space for Black and African women to come together in honest conversation, explore shared experiences, and strengthen relationships across the African diaspora.
Exploring stress, boundaries, emotional awareness, and sustainable ways of caring for ourselves before caring for others.
Understanding the histories, cultures, and experiences that shape African American, African, Caribbean, and diasporic communities.
Practicing respectful dialogue, curiosity, and communication that strengthens relationships instead of reinforcing division.
Building meaningful relationships rooted in trust, reciprocity, accountability, and shared community.
Exploring how our values, experiences, and personal strengths contribute to healthier families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Meaningful relationships begin with meaningful conversations.
Throughout each cohort, participants engage in facilitated discussions that explore identity, belonging, history, leadership, and community across the African diaspora. These conversations encourage respectful dialogue, active listening, and greater understanding of experiences different from our own.
EmpowerHER believes meaningful relationships are built both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout each cohort, participants gather for cultural events, volunteer opportunities, creative workshops, and community outings that strengthen trust, deepen friendships, and create shared experiences across the African diaspora.
Whether exploring local events, participating in service projects, or simply enjoying time together, these experiences transform conversation into lasting connection.
The Conversation Continues
Building bridges doesn't happen in a single conversation. It grows through curiosity, shared experiences, and a willingness to learn from one another.
If you're looking for a community that values dialogue, connection, and lasting sisterhood, we'd love to welcome you into the next EmpowerHER cohort.
Join us as we build stronger relationships, stronger communities, and a stronger African diaspora together.
