These slideshows are from presentations given live by students in May and June of 2024. They emulated TED Talks, Ignite presentations, and other sage-on-the-stage models:
These students chose to keep the presentation in the moment. There is no recording of the talk. That doesn't mean their work should go unnoticed, however; their statements of purpose, slideshows, and other artifacts are absolutely worth showcasing.
π¬ Graduating high school a year early shows my commitment to learning. Despite the long process it took for me to consider my after high school life; I'm excited to jump into college, ready for the challenges and new experiences it brings. I'm eager to work hard, contribute to my classes, and get involved in campus life. I can't wait to see what opportunities await me in this next chapter of my education and life.

π¬ I chose my topic on the truth behind foster care for my ted talk because I feel as though it is a topic that is brushed off or when brought up people automatically think its for messed up kids.As a person who went through adoption and foster care I feel like I can give a strong opinion on how I feel.I think their should be more awareness surrounding the topic.
π¬ For Hannah and I's project, we will be doing a slides presentation on Drug Abuse. We want to inform people to be aware of the dangers of using drugs and how it affects not only the person abusing them but their family and friends as well. This work matters to us because Hannah and I both have personal experience and we don't want to see people suffer. I believe this topic also matters to others because they want the best for their family and friends. Our potential message for the audience is to be aware of the harm that drugs cause , what they do to your physical and mental health and how to be aware of them and dealing with peer pressure.
π¬ Horror has been known as a very popular genre for a long time. So many movies, shows and games have been created to fit that category. However, going back to some horror games, how does it make itself scary? People would define some horror games as being the scariest of all time but why is that? What makes a horror game strike fear into players? That's what i wanna cover. I wanna talk about horror games installing fear into players, provide examples of some games that are known as being terrifying and well known, then give an explanation of how fear is develop so people would understand how fear is formed and ending in a conclusion of the answers I have got from my research.
π¬ Our goal is to influence the public, specifically middle class families, to start their self-sustainability journey amidst economic uncertainty. With rising inflation and scarcity, families spend so much money on food (foods that aren't particularly healthy) that they have little amount of money to focus on paying bills and entertainment and other things. Foods used to be grown by hand by the people and the switch to grocery store bought foods lead to harmful additives and inorganic food. This is correlated with the poor health of the average American.
π¬ Sports themselves have always been more than a game. Itβs about friendship, connections and the memories that are made throughout your time. These moments and the journey are captured in a championship ring. That ring holds all the good and bad times, all the hardships you went through and everything in between that led to your apex of success in that championship. The same can be said about anything you hold dear. It could be a bracelet or a toy or even an heirloom. Heirlooms are the closest thing to a championship ring without being one. Heirlooms hold your family's history and are a relic that is passed down for generations for others to hold on to and create more history with. So next time you see a championship ring donβt just think its a useless piece of metal but instead it's something that holds a journey that will never be forgotten.
π¬ As a senior student who has many different talents, interests, and passions, Iβve decided to use my passion of art to create a portfolio to showcase my journey and experience in high school. I would love to also include my artistic growth over the past 4 years. Through this project Iβm striving to push my artistic abilities and boundaries and experiment with different art styles. By doing this project I hope to not only showcase my high school experience through art, but inspire others to possibly do the same who also have the same passion for art as me. This showcase will be a reflection of my passion and love for art.Β
π¬ My purpose for my project is to show the different parenting styles and how they affect children's development. I want to explain and discuss the reasons why parents parent a certain way and explain how it affects kids in their adult life. I believe it is important to share how being raised by a parent will allow you to function a certain way in life and the negatives and positives among that.

π¬ The purpose of writing a portfolio/google slides with this statement is to share my personal experiences and cultural heritage as someone who grew up with immigrant parents from Albania. By detailing how life was different and how you were treated differently I will aim to highlight the unique challenges and perspectives of growing up in anΒ immigrant family. I will interview Mrs Gashi and it doesn't have to be like a video but I would like to ask her personally some questions that I have and use that data. The descriptive elements and factual information will enrich the narrative making it more engaging and informative .
π¬ The Purpose Of My Ted Talk is about Customer's having empathy for Service Workers or anyone in the service industry, this is important to me because when you walk into a job while you're having a bad day the last thing you want is for someone is make it worst , however being a service worker isn't that simple, Sometimes being a worker comes with the pain of being yelled at from a customer because they're having a rough day, or having a customer throw something at you because you got their order wrong and instead of them being understandable they choose to say " Let me speak to your manager". I believe thatΒ everyone deals with a simpler situation if they've ever worked anywhere , some people aren't aware of how they speak whether it's not saying a simple thank you or not understanding that the person their speaking to is also a next human being that has feelings. The lesson to be learned is that you shouldn't make your bad day turn into anger and sadness which leads to you taking it out on someone else that's just trying to do their job and then go home.
