Why TAs Love Being Part of Campus Adventures: A Glimpse Into Their Motivation
At Campus Adventures, the role of a TA (Teaching Assistant) is a unique and enriching experience. TAs enroll in the leadership program after they have aged out of main camp. In this program, they gain valuable skills while helping the next generation of campers get the most out of camp. Here's what TAs have to say about why they choose to be part of this transformative program:
A Dream Come True
"I've been coming to Campus Adventures for seven years and have always looked up to the TAs. Now, I finally get to be one!" says one enthusiastic new TA. Many others share similar feelings, as their time as campers inspired them to return as leaders.
Fun, Leadership, and Community
TAs love the fun and excitement that comes with camp, but it’s the leadership development and sense of community that make the experience so valuable. "It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow as a leader while supporting others," one TA shares. "The best part is being surrounded by supportive staff and getting to work with younger kids."
Learning and Growing Together
"Being a TA helps me improve my leadership skills and connect with others," says another TA. For many, the program is more than just a chance to help—it’s an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. The leadership skills learned here will stay with them for years to come, as they become more confident communicators and leaders.
Giving Back and Inspiring Others
"I’ve been coming to Campus Adventures for years, and now I want to help others have the same incredible experience," says one TA. The desire to give back to the community that shaped their childhood is a common theme. Many TAs are eager to inspire new campers, ensuring that future generations enjoy the same sense of fun, growth, and community that they did.
A Supportive Environment
TAs also cherish the tight-knit community they’re part of. "The bond among TAs is amazing," one shares. Working closely with peers and mentors creates an atmosphere of support and collaboration, making the leadership program a fun and fulfilling experience.
Campus Adventures offers teens the opportunity to enroll in a leadership program where they not only gain practical skills but also contribute to the camp’s vibrant community. It’s a chance to build lasting relationships, grow as leaders, and help inspire the next generation of campers.
Another reason to be a TA:
Work at camp right after graduation!
Typically, Campus Adventures staff must complete a year of college before working at Camp, but if you graduate from our TA program, you can apply a year early!
