Math Activities

Count it out!

  • use sticky notes or pieces of paper and write a number of it

  • challenge your child to find that many objects for each number - for example, find three cars for the number three, or five crayons for the number five

  • you can put dots next to the number to help your child identify the number

Counting Cars

  • make a record sheet like this

  • watch out your window and tally what color of car passes by - can also do this when taking a walk!

  • when done, count out how many cars of each color you saw. Which one has the most? The fewest? Were any numbers the same?

Can you Find it?

  • use number set cards

  • give each child 5-6 different cards

  • hold up one of your own cards, see if they can find a match to one of their cards
