Homeroom has changed this year. Instead of a social and emotional direction, the focus has become academics.
The weekly schedule:
Monday: Each classroom does binder checks, identifying if students are using their planners, organizing their papers according to class, and maintaining a working binder to help lead to academic success.
Tuesday: We hold grade level assemblies to share information and celebrate succeses. We also have activities to build community.
Wednesday: No homeroom.
Thursday: Students check Skyward to identify any missing work or assessments. They then make a plan to aid in makeing needded corrections. They also have the opportunity to make a reservation for Learning Lab on Friday to get needed support.
Friday: Learning Lab. Students stay in their homeroom unless reservations have been made to go to another class for assistance. The students have the entire period to have a quiet working time to focus on missing work, work on current work, or get assistance from a teacher.
