If you are reading this, it means I was fortunate enough to have you, or your child assigned to my class. =] Don't let the rumors of my academic seriousness or direct communication scare you. Students with the intention to learn have nothing to fear. Students are expected and required to attend class everyday, be on time, ask thoughtful questions, do their best work, and be respectful. I promise to do the same.
My job is to prepare students for adulthood, as it applies to the work and/or college world, even if that means occasionally in the digital format. Everyone's ideas are important, and expressing them in my class and later, on the job, is expected. Students should not be afraid to say what they think (professionally, and respectfully, of course) and back it up with the knowledge and facts that they have. Thinking is not a crime, and having an opinion is not a social faux pas. In fact, these skills become more important as time goes on. This is an opportunity to develop one's voice and use it!
If students are ready to learn something new, find the words to express their views, and the opportunity to practice skills in communication both in writing and speaking, then, they are in the right place. Let's get started.
NOTE: Please have your child/student join their Google Classroom as soon as possible to find where and when to meet regularly and what work/research/activities they are assigned for each week.
Google Classroom will be the primary portal for assignment access. Of course, you are always welcome to email me directly or call the number above. Students will have opportunities to talk to me in class everyday as well as after school during the scheduled Office Hours from 2:20-3:20 every Tues. and Thurs., or in GoogleMeet, by appointment. See codes for joining the Google Classroom below:
