Welcome to Mrs. Dahl's Classroom

Class overview

The ELL classrooms (6th-8th graders) are designed to assist multilingual learners to acquire proficiency in the English language while they simultaneously learn content subjects. Students receive instruction and activities through all areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The lessons are aligned with the WIDA and Common Core State Standards.

About me

This is my third year in Mountain View Middle School, and I'm thrilled to meet students and families after the summer break!

For new coming students and families, here is who I am. I grew up in Japan and speak Japanese, so I understand both struggles and great things about being bilingual. That is one of the reasons why I have a passion for working with ELL students. Before moving to Bremerton School District, I worked in Peninsula School District and Central Kitsap School District. I majored in the English language at Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan for a BA and Education for a MA at City University of Seattle, Washington.

I'm also a wife, mom of two daughters and three cats! They keep us pretty busy everyday. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening in my yard, baking bread at home, and watching documentaries on a cozy sofa.

Again, I am so excited to work with you this school year!
