Hello Students & Families!
Here is a little bit about me:
I was born and raised in Northern California, and moved here to Bremerton 17 years ago. I absolutely love this area, and now enjoy California as a visitor. College was a very long road for me, as I worked full time almost the entire way. I was employed in many different job types, and believe firmly that there are MANY avenues to MANY different types of successful lives, and sometimes the road less traveled is the best for you. Between 2009 and 2016 I completed my AA through Olympic College, and my BA in Elementary Education through WWU. I later completed my MS in Curriculum and Instruction in 2020, and enjoyed being able to mix my own education with my career in such a meaningful way. I am a third generation teacher, and have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th/7th/8th grade! I have taught at View Ridge, West Hills and Mountain View!
Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, friends, and pets. I am happily married, and my partner and I currently have two cats, Leo and JoJo. I enjoy playing games of all sorts, but mainly board games, video games, and role playing games. I also enjoy reading, crafting, swimming, baking and yoga.
In July 2022, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. With this came very difficult treatment. My appearance has changed over the last 3 years. I chose to share this freely and openly, so that families and students are not caught off-guard and feel comfortable asking questions and being a part of my journey. I have recovered from active treatment and am now in the clear. 💜
