NJROTC offers a plethora of teams, which are dedicated to furthering our Cadets understanding of the Unit, and getting them involved.
Orienteering
Orienteering is our most prominate team, practicing weekly, and competeing frequetly. See more in the "Orienteering Team" section!
Academic
Commanded by c/ENS Hannah Mitchell, ESO, Academic competes at Drill Meets and Brain Brawls. The team focusses on Naval Knowldege, U.S., Hisotry, Geogrpahy, Grammer, Math, Current Events, and Pop. Culture. They compete through a testing format, in which they are then judged and scoured. In the 2023-2024 School Year, Academic Placed third, and third again in the 2024-2025 year, going to Regionals as well.
Marksmanship
Led by c/PO1 Sylvester Diloy, Marksmenship meets in the Mat Room across the street, shooting with Air Rifles (typically Challengers). In the 2023-2024 year, they placed 2nd and 3rd.
Strength
Led by c/PO3 Phunert Kulrat, Green MPO, Strength competes through physical fittness. Runnign the track, push-ups, and sit-ups/planks.
Unarmed Drill
Commanded by c/SCPO Andre Robinson, CSUnarmed is made up of three segments: Exhabition, Regulation, and Duals. Exhabition is a routin made by the Cadets, show casing their skills. Regulation is the set of guidlines Unarmed must perform. Duals is two people competting together in a 15x15 foot area, through marching and other drill movemnts.
Armed Drill
Commanded by c/CPO Robert Rempfer, Red PC, Armed is similar to Unarmed. They also compete in Exhabition, Regulation, and Duals, following the same set of guidelines. The only difference is that Armed competes with Drill Rifles.
Colorguard
Led by c/SCPO Andre Robinson, CSC, Colorguard consists of a Right and Left Rifle, State, and America Flag. They follow a Drill Card, and are judged by their execution of movements.
