MYP Year 3 / BHA Grade 7 and 8
The MYP Design Rubric is a tool to guide you in your inquiry as a designer. It represents the knowledge, skills and attitudes you should achieve through this inquiry.
Understanding the Command Terms will help you achieve to the best of your ability.

B1: constructs a list of the success criteria for the design of a solution
B2: presents a few feasible design ideas, using an appropriate medium(s) or explains key features, which can be interpreted by others
B3: outlines the main reasons for choosing the design with reference to the design specification
B4: creates planning drawings/diagrams or lists requirements for the chosen solution.
A1: explains the need for a solution to a problem
Explanation of the need for a solution with Point and either Example or Explanation
A2: constructs a research plan, which states and prioritizes the primary and secondary research needed to develop a solution to the problem, with some guidance
Your research plan summarizes information for all 4 systems, mentions priority of the research
A3: describes a group of similar products that inspire a solution to the problem
Includes description of 3 houses with Parts, Purposes, Benefits (3+) and Improvements (3+) identified.
A4: develops a design brief, which outlines the findings of relevant research.
Includes Build the box routine with identification of Client needs, Systems, Functional considerations and Rules for the house.
B1: develops design specifications, which identify the success criteria for the design of a solution

B3: presents the chosen design and outlines the main reasons for its selection with reference to the design specification
B4: develops accurate planning drawings/diagrams and lists requirements for the creation of the chosen solution.
A1: explains and justifies the need for a solution to a problem
Explanation of the need for a solution with Point and both Example and Explanation.
A2: constructs a research plan, which states and prioritizes the primary and secondary research needed to develop a solution to the problem independently
Your research plan explains the need for research, states priority and includes summary of relevant research in 3-5 points for each of the 4 systems.
A3: analyses a group of similar products that inspire a solution to the problem
Includes analysis of 3 houses with Parts, Purposes, Benefits and Improvements analyzed in detail
A4: develops a design brief, which presents the analysis of relevant research.
Includes the Build the box routine with identification of including Client needs, Systems, Functional considerations and Rules for the house and Benefits and Limitations explained
B1: develops a design specification which outlines the success criteria for the design of a solution based on the data collected
