JS Academic Enrichment Program
Program Description
The JS Academic Enrichment Program, launched in 2020, offers a series of events designed to provide our G2-G5 Branksome Bears with diverse academic opportunities—collaborative, competitive, and individual—to help develop the IB Learner Profile and BHA Core Values.
Students may choose to participate in some, none, or all of the events. Scroll down to learn about the guidelines and registration requirements for each event.
40 Book Challenge
Now it is open!
The 40 Book Challenge aims to encourage students from G2 to G5 to read a wide range of books across different genres and to complete different activities to show their understanding of what they are reading.

Are you willing to extend your problem solving skills, imagination and creativity?
Are you looking for an experience to have fun and work together in a team?
Then the 2026 Math Challenge may be the ideal challenge for you!
What is the Math Challenge?
The focus of the Math Challenge is to explore mathematics together, solve problems and communicate with your team to find the answers. Open to students in Grade 2 to 5. Just bring your positive, 'never give up' attitude and team spirit!

Game Jam & Coding Camp
Tuesday, 11 November - Thursday, 13 November, 2025
Star Wave by Seah Jang (G4AP), Bom Lee (G4AP), & Jisoo Yun (G4SC), group entry winner of Game Jam 2023-2024.
This year, there are two options for Coding Enrichment:
Game Jam: November 11-13 (Tues-Thurs)
A competition for students who already know how to code. Enter as a group or an individual!
Open to all students grades 2-5.
Coding Camp: November 11-13 (Tues-Thurs)
A camp for students who want to learn how to code! Have fun and develop your skills with lessons & support from teachers in a low-stress environment. Open to all students grades 2-5.

Speech Competition
Friday, 3 April 2026
The Speech Competition is a special event where Grade 2-5 students are invited to showcase their communication skills in front of a live audience. Students show their awareness not just of global issues, but also of how to communicate to inspire, inform and persuade others.

**Parents of children participating are invited to attend the Mini Grade-Level Speech Competitions on the 30th and 31st March. Specific times are outlined in the Rules and Procedures.

The science fair is a wonderful opportunity to pique students’ curiosity, capture their interest, and motivate their continued study in science. The insights thus gained help them recognize that the work of scientists is a creative endeavor—one that has deeply affects the world they live in. Students may then recognize that science can contribute to meeting many of the major challenges that confront society today.
