Homework is generally a continuation of an assignment students begin in class. Therefore, some “homework” assignments will be graded and fall under the Student Work category in Infinite Campus. Students will be notified of assignments that are graded.
Most assignments will be posted on Google Classroom for students to complete.
Assignments will be organized by week on Google Classroom.
If you are having trouble with an assignment, please email me PRIOR to the morning of the assignment’s due date to avoid work being marked, missing, incomplete, or late on Infinite Campus.
EXAMPLE: If you received an assignment on Monday and it is due on Wednesday, please email me by Tuesday evening with any questions.
Email me (cpereira@branfordschools.org) stating the name of the assignment. Without your email, I will NOT know when you have submitted work on Google Classroom, and, therefore, the assignment might remain marked as "missing" (M = 50%) in Infinite Campus.
When you complete Google forms AFTER due dates, please be sure to email me with the name(s) of the Google forms you completed. I do NOT get alerts when students submit forms.
UPDATED 11/06/24:
Your child is working on the final writing assessment of Unit 1 - an argumentative essay. Your child has dedicated time to the following:
Developing a debatable question related to a recent case
Determining their claim and supporting it with reasons, evidence, while acknowledging the other side.
Writing an introduction and body paragraphs to introduce and elaborate on their claim.
I encourage you to have conversations with your child about their writing! Talking about writing is an important technique that empowers young writers, and can help your child in feeling more confident in their writing too!
