I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I am proud to say this is my 13th year working in the Brandon School District. Most of my time here in Brandon has been teaching GSRP preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. My husband and I have three daughters. Our oldest daughter Gracelyn is 24, Reese is 16 and Finley is 12. In the spring, Gracelyn will finish her degree in Dental Hygiene and recently celebrated her 1 year wedding anniversary. Her and her husband Duncan are both former college athletes who keep us active and help us support our other two daughters who are dedicated and talented competitive dancers. Reese and Finley both attend Goodrich Schools. We enjoy going on day trips, traveling, cooking, baking, spending time outdoors and with extended family.
Parents are a child’s first educator and I believe that our partnership is the first of many important ones in your child's educational career. I understand the significance of being such a huge part of what is likely your child's first school experience. You can expect open communication and understanding from me as we navigate this year together. I am confident that I have experienced some of the same concerns that you have and will have as a parent. I often say that being a teacher has made me a better parent and being a parent has made me a better teacher. I will be willing to assist you and your child with any question or concern pertaining to your child's development and junior kindergarten experience. I am very excited and am looking forward to a great school year!
