The Brandon Middle School Band Program includes three ensembles: 6th Grade Beginning Band, 7th Grade Concert Band & 8th Grade Concert Band. Each group is designed to meet students at their current ability level and help them grow through daily rehearsals, group performance, and personal musicianship development. The 7th Grade Band and 8th Grade Band are intermediate ensembles that build on the skills developed in 6th grade. Students continue to strengthen their musicianship through increasingly advanced music, prepare for adjudicated festivals and performances, and develop greater independence and leadership within the band program.

Expanding range and technique
Developing ensemble balance and blend
Performing challenging concert literature
Preparing for high school band
Representing the school at MSBOA Festival and other public events
Flute: Cleaning Cloth/Cleaning Rod
Clarinet: Cleaning Swab, Reeds (all reeds should have the number 3 on the package, Juno, Rico, or Royal brand)
Saxophone: Cleaning Swab, Reeds (all reeds should have the number 3 on the package, Juno, Rico, or Royal brand)
Trumpet/Baritone: Valve Oil, brass cleaning cloth, Mouthpiece Brush
Trombone: Brass cleaning cloth, mouthpiece brush, trombone slide cream, small spray bottle (the kind you find in the travel section at the store)
Percussion: Vic Firth SD1 drumsticks, Medium Rubber Mallets, Medium Yarn Mallets

Pre-Festival Concert- February 23rd
MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival (Date TBA- Typically first weekend in March held at Oxford High School)
Ice Cream Social / Pops Concert- May 4th
