Beginning Band is a year-long course designed for 6th grade students with little or no prior musical experience. Students learn to play a band instrument and develop foundational music skills through daily instruction and performance opportunities.

Flute
Clarinet
Alto Saxophone
Trumpet
Trombone
Euphonium (Baritone)
Percussion (bells and snare)
Students try out instruments in class with the help of music educators and professionals from Marshall Music.
How Instrument Selection Works
We work with Marshall Music to provide an instrument fitting day. Students get to try out different instruments before making their selection. This ensures a good match between student and instrument.
Materials Needed
Students will need:
Tradition of Excellence Book 1 (specific to their instrument)
Instrument (borrowed, rented, or purchased)
Pencil and Folder
Concerts
Students will perform in 3 concerts throughout the school year.
December 18th- Winter Holiday Concert
May 5th- Ice Cream Social Concert
May 21st- Spring Concert
