NHS hours (on the Opportunities Page) and Community Service hours
NHS hours are hours spent helping those requesting assistance through our opportunities page
Community Service hours are hours spent assisting sponsors and organizations not on the opportunities page, and are selected on your own from the list at the bottom of the page. We are always looking to grow the community service list! If you know of other service opportunities not listed below, you need to have them approved by the advisers before the service is performed.
We strongly encourage candidates/members to select opportunities that will be avenues for personal growth. NHS is all about experiencing new things!
You are not to work for a relative or receive compensation of any kind. If you are contemplating an opportunity sponsored by a religious organization, please check with the advisers to make sure the service extends into the community at large. There are no athletic related events or co-curricular/hobby activities that qualify as community service.
Note: All approved athletics related service requests will be posted on the Opportunities page, so please check the page on a regular basis. Parents or family members who submit service requests to the NHS account with the intent of creating a service opportunity for only their child/relative is unacceptable.
