My research addresses the question of how neurons in the brain, communicating with each other via electrical spikes, can connect together in ways to produce useful behavior, and how changes in the network of connections can be wrought by external stimuli, or training, leading to changes in behavior.

I joined the Miller and Katz Labs in 2021 as a PhD student applying statistical/computational/theoretical approaches to studying learning and memory in taste - particularly in conditioned taste aversion (CTA) paradigms. Prior, I worked with Jonathan Touboul on mathematical approaches to / analyses of primary visual cortex response properties, and with John Wilmes on optimization landscapes of neural network models.
In my free time, I perform repertoire for classical piano, am an amateur ornithologist, enjoy various fiber arts, and perform culinary experiments.

My scientific interest is in systems memory consolidation, a process which involves many well-studied physiological and neural features, yet evades any comprehensive understanding related to its mechanisms. With my work in the Miller and Jadhav labs, I aim to develop our understanding of what memory consolidation is in terms of neural dynamics and synaptic changes. By employing biophysically detailed models that utilize crucial features of consolidation brain states, I am illustrating how memories may be formed and shaped.
In my free time I enjoy ballroom dance, classical music, and cooking.
