support resources

Subject matter for the Imperiled Bodies seminar may at times be sensitive, challenging, and triggering for folks, so we want to highlight a few support resources:

The Support at Brandeis website is a great place to start.

The Brandeis Counseling Center (or BCC) provides counseling for undergraduate and graduate students. Their number is 781-736-3730, and this serves as a 24/7 support line if you call after business hours.

The Prevention, Advocacy, and Resource Center (or PARC) is there to help people feel supported and safe, and they provide resources for emotional safety including coping skills, referrals to ongoing therapy, just having someone to talk to, processing friends’ or family members’ experiences, and more. You can reach PARC several ways: by email at parc@brandeis.edu; through online chat on their website at brandeis.edu/parc from 12-5pm Mon-Fri; by text at 1-877-898-4238; or by phone at 1-781-736-3371. You can also visit their office located on the ground floor of Usdan in G-108 (note that, during construction, the easiest way to get to PARC is to enter the Usdan atrium from the South side, walk in the doors for Levin Ballroom, then take a right and follow the signs for PARC).

The Gender and Sexuality Center (or GSC) is committed to building community and institutional support for women and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and asexual (LGBTQ+) faculty, staff, and students. It is located on the ground floor of Usdan’s Winer Building, in room G069. You can call the GSC at 781-736-8583 or email them at gsc@brandeis.edu.
