Do I need to participate in the Science Fair?
No, you do not need to participate in the Science Fair. Participation is voluntary.
Can I work with other students for the Science Fair?
Yes! Students can choose to work by themselves or with a partner. Partners do not need to be in the same Homeroom Class, but they must be in the same grade.
When is the Science Fair and when do I need to bring my project to school?
This information can be found on the Important Dates page of this website. Go check it out!
When do I work on my project? Will I have time in school?
Students will not be provided with time to work on their Science Fair projects at school and will need to complete their projects entirely at home on their own time. This should be taken into account when deciding whether or not students want to participate and if they work with a partner.
If my project has a demonstration component, when do I do that?
Demonstrations will take place during your class's visit to the Science Fair. If you and your partner are not in the same homeroom class, we will discuss which visit you would like to do the demonstration in together.
How do I win?
This Science Fair is not a competition and there will be no winner. The goal is to celebrate curiosity, exploration, and the scientific process.
What parts of my project can I bring in for the Science Fair?
Students may bring in any component of their experiment and/or model that they wish, as long as they meet the guidelines described on the Project Guidelines page. If you have a question about a specific item, please reach out to Miss Hill, Miss Hill, Stony Brook School's Science Fair Coordinator. You can reach her by email at mhill@branchburg.k12.nj.us.
