AMBER REED is a professional rugby player, Co-Captain of the Bristol Bears and has been capped 58 times for England. She was first capped in November 2012 and went on to be part of the 2014 World Cup winning team as well as a two times 6 Nations Grandslam champion. She has also encountered many setbacks in her career due to injury. She is a LOOSEHEADZ ambassador and is an advocate for promoting mental wellbeing. With the Rugby World Cup due to take place in New Zealand in September, Amber is hoping to make her third World Cup appearance for England.

Alex Hibbert is the world record-holding polar traveller who has skied further on an unsupported Arctic journey than anyone in history. Highly active in the polar and cold regions, Alex has led independent projects every year since 2006. Journeys since the Long Haul have included a high-speed icecap crossing (330 miles in less than 12 days), multiple seasons in the Canadian Arctic, and nearly half a year living with the Polar Eskimos of Northern Greenland. He is currently working on the world-first Dark Ice Project.

Joanne Jones, marathon swimmer, British Open Water Champion and open water swimming coach, will be hosting a Zoom talk on Wednesday 20 January from 4.40pm – 5.40pm, as a special guest of Downe House (DH Sport). The talk is entitled “Love the Sport, not the Success” and promises to interesting and inspiring. Joanne is an open water swimmer, and is passionate about the importance of finding a sport you love, doing it for enjoyment and not just the success.
