Innovation Career Pathways provide students with coursework and industry related experiences in specific high demand industries. We maintain partnerships with local professionals to provide students with career related opportunities that will help prepare them for life after high school. Students will gain industry relevant knowledge through curriculum aligned with state standards, be immersed in real world experiences in their chosen path, and learn from field professionals and expert educators.
At BHS, students can choose from two different pathways. Both pathways prepare students to meet all local graduation requirements while also being recognized as an Innovation Career Pathway student by the state of Massachusetts. Students must take two technical courses, two advanced courses, and participate in an internship or capstone.
Potential careers following the healthcare pathway include pursuing becoming a doctor, nurse, athletic trainer, nutritionist, wellness coach, behavioral therapist, public health coordinator, kinesiologist, sports medicine practitioner, emergency responder, paramedic, and more!
Potential careers following the business pathway include pursuing entrepreneurship, marketing and advertising, accounting, personal finance, corporate finance, business development, e-commerce, human resources, and more!
Talk to your guidance counselor about what career paths interest you and what your path might look like at BHS, and then fill out the online application form. Your counselor will give you the link to the application, which will ask you specifically about your interests and why you want to be a part of a pathway. The application should be filled out in the spring of 9th grade, as your best chance to complete the pathway is to start in 10th grade.
