Follow these suggested guidelines to help make your PIE on the GO STEM BUS experience the best it can be:
Administration:
Reserve a space for the bus
Designate a space/room for all the TAKE-OFF activities to be housed for the week.
Promote STEM BUS during Faculty Meetings/Morning Announcements/Social Media
STEM Bus Lead:
Print a sign-up sheet for TAKE-OFF activities.
Print schedule for on bus time.
Teachers:
5th grade teachers review the ON-STATION bus activities.
NEW: ALL teachers are encouraged to visit the STEM HUB LENDING LIBRARY website and reserve any STEM equipment you would like to have delivered with the STEM Bus to use in your classroom. Choose "Reserve Equipment" at the top of the screen. You will have use of this equipment during the week the Bus is at your school. Make sure to choose the correct dates when making your reservation (check with your principal to confirm dates).
All teachers will sign out which take-off activities that they would like to use and when.
5th grade teachers will sign up for days and times that they would like to use the STEM bus.
Administration:
How do I TURN THE BUS ON? (See detailed instructions below)
Check all inventory on STEM Bus and fill out paper inventory and then send digital confirmation form. Should be done Monday when bus arrives.
Bring all take-off activities into the school and place in the designated area.
STEM Bus Lead:
Daily locking and unlocking of STEM Bus.
Leave the keys with your admin at the end of the day.
Start generator and turn on power/air conditioners and heaters.
Check each station to ensure the equipment is charged.
Turn on the bus WiFi at the front of the bus near the door.
Teachers:
Sign-in/Sign-out TAKE-OFF Mission items
Teachers:
Return ALL Take-Off and STEM HUB items
STEM Bus Lead:
Verify Inventory & Secure bus with Administration
Administration:
Complete STEM Bus User Feedback Form on STEM Bus website.
Pick up and discard any trash from inside and around the bus.
Collect and Inventory ON-STATION & TAKE-OFF bus items.
Teachers that borrowed items from the STEM HUB Lending Library will need to return those items to the STEM Bus Lead Teacher to be properly stowed on the Bus and returned to the STEM HUB. *Teachers that borrowed and used equipment in their classes are asked to complete the Impact Survey on the STEM Hub website.
