On March 11, 2025, Bloomingdale voters had the opportunity to participate in a school referendum vote. The community approved the Board of Education's proposal to close the Samuel R. Donald School, which had served Bloomingdale for a century, and to expand Walter T. Bergen School significantly. This expanded educational facility will now accommodate students in grades 1 through 8 and will feature 16 new classrooms, creating a state-of-the-art learning environment. Alongside these classrooms, a new gymnasium and a modern kitchen will also be introduced, ensuring that Walter T. Bergen School becomes a premier educational space for our students.
