Original Referendum Financial Plan
The information below was prepared before the referendum vote and reflects the original financial estimates presented to voters. It is provided for historical reference and does not represent a current tax-bill calculation or construction budget update.
Bloomingdale Public Schools worked with the district’s architect, Gianforcaro Architects, Engineers & Planners of Mount Arlington, NJ as well as a team of financial advisors to develop a plan for the referendum project. In the summer and fall of 2024, stakeholder input meetings with a variety of Bloomingdale community groups took place to ensure the project was on track and representative of the best interest of both our town and school district.
Taxpayer will see a less than 2% total increase to their tax bill.
Original Tax Impact Estimate
In the example bill above you would take $9380.42 x 0.02 = $187.60 increase.
To find out the monthly cost divide $187.60 by 12 = $15.63 per month.
How to Calculate the 2% Increase:
Located your tax bill, similar to the sample provide on the left.
Look for the Item labeled 2024 Total Tax, which is shown in a red box in our example.
Take that number and multiply it by .02 (which represents the 2% increase). This figure is how much you can expect your taxes to go up If the referendum passes.
