When I was in the 4th grade, I traveled to Colonial Williamsburg with my parents. It was my first time seeing a "living history" museum, similar to Sturbridge Village and Plimouth Planation. From that moment on, I became infatuated with history! I love making it come alive for people, sharing people's stories, investigating, questioning, and truly trying to bring history alive for students.
I am also a huge fan of traveling, and my family loves to try to visit a new state every year; the more states, the happier we are! We had big plans for this summer to add on even more states, but that will have to wait. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to Europe three times, the last time with my mother, husband, and son. Teaching history AND geography is a dream come true for me! Encouraging students to explore new places, online and in person, local and abroad, is a passion of mine.
You may also have figured out some of my other interests and passions! Here's a break down of me, Mrs. Sturtevant.
