Sophomores & Freshmen

These first couple years will help to set the stage for the rest of your high school career so make it count. This is a great time to establish yourself as a good student. Although graduation seems like something far off, it will be here before you know it. Everything you do in high school will be evaluated when you start applying for colleges and scholarship opportunities as a senior. I would encourage you to explore the BVHS Course Description Manual so that you can get a better idea of your academic options. Challenge yourself! Don't take the easy way out when selecting course options. Get involved in extra curricular activities and student organizations. They are great ways to meet new people, help out your school and community, and provide leadership opportunities. I would encourage you to discuss any academic concerns with your teachers as soon as they come up. If you need help with a class, talk to them about it. They want you to be successful and will do everything they can to help you out.
