Seniors/Juniors

It is your last years of high school and that means it is time to start thinking about what you will do after you graduate. I encourage you to start the planning process early. The year will go by fast and staying on track with planning will help make your life a lot easier. Make sure to check the website often. I will be using it to communicate important information that you will need to know for your junior and senior year. I will be scheduling meetings with you throughout the year to make sure that you are on track with your post-graduation plans. If you ever have questions about college planning or career options after high school, please come talk to me. I am here to help you through the process. I hope you have a great year!!

Throughout the school year, college admissions representatives will schedule a time to come to the BVHS campus to meet with prospective students. These meetings take place in small groups and may include the discussion of topics such as academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures. Juniors and seniors are allowed to miss class to visit with a college representative if they are interested in the school and get a pass from Mrs. Jensen or the office staff prior to the visit. Check the calendar on the home page for a list of upcoming visits.

Senior students are permitted a maximum of 4 days to go on college visits and juniors are permitted 2 days. In order for these absences to be considered excused, your parent/guardian must call the school ahead of time & let them know which day(s) you will be gone. You will need to get an absence sheet from Lisa and have your teachers sign it, so you know what you need to do for each of your classes the day you are gone.

Many colleges have campus visit days scheduled for this year. You can usually find this information on their website. You also have the option of setting up individual meetings with an admissions adviser or other college faculty/staff. Please contact Mrs. Jensen if you have any questions about scheduling college visits.
