Meet Our Instructors

Ms. Sharon Phipps is very excited to start the upcoming school year at the Spofford Pond Elementary School. With degrees in Education and Oboe Performance from the University of New Hampshire and the University of South Carolina, Ms. Phipps has taught instrumental music in grades 3-12 for the past 23 years. Having taught both strings and band instruments over her career, she has worked extensively with concert bands, orchestras, chamber music, and jazz bands. Ms. Phipps performs as a free-lance oboist in the Metropolitan Boston area. You will find her playing for local orchestras, operas, and musicals. When not playing and teaching, you are sure to catch Ms. Phipps keeping up with her local sports teams, visiting family, or traveling to an exciting new location.

Mr. Roger Brockelbank teaches all percussion classes at Spofford Pond including snare and bass drums, auxiliary percussion (triangle, wood block, cymbals, etc.,) and drum set for our advanced students. Mr. Brockelbank is also a percussion teacher at Masconomet and other area schools and regularly performs with his bands all around the Boston area. Mr. Andrew Heath will be teaching all trumpet classes at Spofford Pond this year. He is a professional trumpet player int he Boston area with extensive teaching experience in both the private and public schools. Currently, he also teaches lessons at the Howe-Manning Elementary School.
