Mrs. Durand, Mrs. DeAngelis, and Ms. Markey/Mrs. Seager Bow Memorial School
Introduction
Welcome to Grade 6 Reading at Bow Memorial School. We are excited to work with your child (or children) this year. Please keep in touch if you have questions or concerns.
The best way to reach us is by email: bdurand@bownet.org, bdeangelis@bownet.org, and mmarkey@bownet.org.
We will post the day’s homework on our classroom whiteboards, and will ask that students copy the assignments into their planner/agenda book.
Students who struggle with the class are encouraged to schedule extra help sessions with their teacher during WINN time.
Homework and Grading Policies
Students should read for 30 minutes or more each night and record it on their Reading Record sheet.
Weekly assignments may be given as homework. Examples of weekly assignments would be reading reflections and vocabulary packets. These assignments would be broken down in the planner/agenda books.
Students are responsible for checking Google Classrooms (GC) for missed work due to an absence. It is strongly recommended that students check in with their teachers when they return to school.
Assessments (formative and summative)
Formative assessments will include daily class work, homework, quizzes and work done leading up to a bigger project or test. Summative assessments will show understanding or mastery of competencies. This may include but not be limited to tests, essays, projects, etc.
