3D Printing

The Work Room has a Makerbot Replicator (5th Gen). It's a good, mid-line model. It works by oozing molten plastic one layer at a time, building it up little by little-- 0.1mm layers at a time. It's a pretty clever rig.

BHS now has a student-driven 3D print club. We meet every-other Wednesdays during break in the Media Lab. We have several expert students who can help out with you design needs, and they're very good at helping people with Inventor, and industry-standard CAD program.

Here's a clogged nozzle one of our students tried to fix. That's okay. We had a spare! 3D printers are known to get a bit finicky at times. Thankfully, there are lots of resources on the web to help troubleshoot problems. Be patient and crafty, and you can get it working again!
