My name is Hailey Wakefield and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! We are going to do so many fun things, and of course, learn a lot too. I hope you had a fabulous summer with your friends and family.
Here is a little about me!
My husband, Adam, and I live in Yorba Linda with our daughter, Ellie and cat, Dilly. I have been fortunate enough to be on leave with Ellie since she was born in April 2025, so the 2026-2027 school year is my first as a teacher/mom! I enjoy traveling, yoga, cooking new recipes, camping, and hiking/snorkeling with my sister in my free time... which has shrunk as a new mom :)
In 2015 I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education (minor in Special Education). In 2019 I received my Masters in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University.
This is my 11th year as a teacher, I have taught TK for 9 years, going on 10. Early childhood education is where I belong! In my teaching, I love incorporating nature and learning through play. I have also taught 3rd grade, online Kindergarten, and small group intervention for grades 1st and 2nd.

Hello, Laurel families. My name is Laura Carreon De Castro. I am Ms. Wakefield's co-teacher. I am so excited for the beginning of this new school year.
A little bit about me:
I earned a BA in Spanish from CSUF along with Child Development courses from Fullerton College. My favorite pastimes include my gardening and going to the beach. I am Brea's local resident, and I have been working for the BOUSD for eight years in the Child Development Service Department. I look forward to engaging with your children in multiple themes and projects.
Our district uses ParentSquare to communicate. We will be sharing class information, photos, reminders, signs ups, and more using this app. You will also be able to message us directly for day-to-day communication. You can use this link to find out more information from the district.
