Modern Foreign Languages

We believe that language learning plays a vital role in preparing students for the world that awaits them after Bosworth Academy. Learning a language will help you develop cultural awareness as well as help you to think in different ways.

All students study a modern foreign language. Students will continue with the language they have been learning in years 7 and 8. In some circumstances, we do allow students to study more than one language as an option subject too. Please speak to your language teachers if this interests you.

Did you know?

360 million people speak English as their first language in the world. 275 million people speak French and 580 million people speak Spanish. English, French and Spanish are all in the top five most spoken languages in the world! Being able to speak two of these languages opens doors to many fantastic opportunities to study and work across many different continents and countries and also explore their cultures too. Our language provision helps students to become global citizens!
