If you have been identified by your teachers as needing additional support in English you will not need to study a language. This option will not appear at all on your online options selection as a core choice. Instead, you will develop your deep learning competency skills by joining our '2030 ready' Global Media and Communication course.

This course will support you in achieving a Level 1/2 Functional Skills Qualification and will use Film Studies as stimuli to help you develop your communication skills including English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as well as support you in developing other core foundation skills including numeracy and data and digital literacy.

Students on the course this year started by producing work around the film 'Holes' - which is based on the best-selling novel by Louis Sachar. They have loved it and found it a really engaging way of improving their English skills.
