When students have interpersonal issues with other students or faculty that interfere with student success, we have several different ways of finding solutions.
Students may seek mediation through a faculty member or from a peer-mediator in which they will meet with those involved in the conflict and discuss solutions that work for everyone. Our peer-mediators are students who have been trained in mediation.
Another conflict-resolution practice we help with is the use of circles. Circles occur when there is a larger group involved with the conflict. In a circle, everyone has an equal opportunity to share their voice. These circles are led by HWT faculty.
