About the BPS Partnerships Office
The Boston Public Schools (BPS) Partnerships Office is part of the Office of Family and Community Advancement. It is dedicated to fostering strong, equitable, and impactful collaborations between our schools and the vibrant community of partners. We believe that by working together with non-profit organizations, businesses, faith-based organizations and community groups, we can significantly enhance educational opportunities, bridge resource and opportunity gaps, and collectively nurture the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student.
Our vision is that all students and schools will have access to high quality partnerships that nurture their academic, social, and emotional growth, increase their access to college and career pathways, and foster engagement with learning.
We do this by fostering collaborative relationships between school communities, central office departments, industry partners, non-profit and community organizations, educational institutions and faith-based communities that share our vision.
We work intentionally to implement strategies that help with:
Increasing equitable access: Utilizing tools like the BPS Opportunity Index and the Partnership Fund to ensure high-need schools have the resources to choose and engage high-quality partners.
Ensuring quality: Establishing and upholding the Quality Standards for BPS School-Community Partners, which provide a clear framework for effective programs and organizational excellence.
Facilitating connections: Through platforms like PartnerBPS, we streamline the process for schools to find and connect with vetted, high-quality partner organizations.
Providing support and resources: Offering comprehensive guides, workshops, and ongoing communication to support both schools and partners in building and sustaining successful collaborations.
We are committed to building a robust network of support that promotes equity, diversity, and excellence in education, ultimately shaping a brighter future for all Boston Public Schools students.
