📚OB students find JOY in reading :)
📚OB students read choice books all year long!
All students will read independently in addition to assigned class texts. Most 9th graders read 15 or more independent reading books a year!
📚OB teachers want to learn more about YOU!
Summer reading helps your ELA teachers learn more about you and your reading comprehension skills so we can best support you during the school year!
**Summer reading is also one of the first things teachers grade for the school year. Let’s start the year off strong!**

Over the summer, incoming 9th graders must read 2 books:
(1) Fahrenheit 451
(2) a book of their choice!
They must also complete a note-tracker for Fahrenheit 451 and a creative one-pager for their choice book, which can be found below.
These assignments are due on Google Classroom the first week of school.
** Please note: teachers will NOT accept work unless it is submitted through google classroom. **
