FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS BEGINNING 7/12

Starting July 12th, all students aged 18 and under can access free, freshly made breakfast + lunches at Daily Tables in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Central Square. They will serve meals 7 days a week. No identification is required - students just need to ask for the “Local Lunchbox Special” or order online at dailytable.org/shop. After the program launch on July 12, students can come to Daily Table once a day every day of the week between 11:00am - 7:00pm to grab their combo meal.

Local Lunchbox is run in partnership with the YMCA of Greater Boston and the Shah Family Foundation and Daily Table sites are rapidly expanding citywide with partnerships at other local Boston restaurants. Kenny Summer Reading Toolkit 2021

Information about SY2022:

Arrival (9:15am-9:30am) and Dismissal (4:10-4:20pm) take place behind the school on Delmont Street for all students who are dropped off/picked-up by a parent or guardian.


  • Over the summer, students and families should review their summer homework assignments and purchase the items on their school supply list and uniform patches prior to the start of the school year. Uniform patches can be purchased at the school beginning in late August, however, school supplies will no longer be sold at the Kenny School. Details are included below.


  • Students should arrive for their first day of school between 9:15-9:20am with their school supplies and completed summer work. Start dates are noted below:


First Day for Students in Grades 1-6: Thursday, September 9th

First Day for Students in Grades K0, K1 & K2: Monday, September 13th


  • Optional Before & After School Programs: 7:15-9:15am (before school) and 4:15-6:00pm (after school)

Before and after school programs are available to all students K0-6, Monday-Friday. Details related to program costs and offerings will be shared in upcoming weeks as our staffing, budget and partnership model is finalized.

The National Runaway Safeline helps youth who have run away, are thinking about running away, or who already ran away but are ready to come home. Parents and guardians can also contact the hotline if they are worried about their child running away or if their child has already left home. The hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Youth, parents, and guardians can also use the online chat feature on the Runaway Safeline's website to ask for help and get support, or can send a text to 66008.


The Trevor Project: 1-866-488-7386

The Trevor Project is a 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer or Questioning) youth. Call: 1-866-488-7386. Youth can also text "Trevor" to 1-202-304-1200 for support, or use the online chat feature on the Trevor Project's website. TrevorText is available Monday-Friday between 3-10PM. TrevorChat is available seven days a week between 3-10PM.
