The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a resource available to help City of Boston employees, their families, and retirees restore and initiate well-being in work and life. The EAP provides free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, and follow-up services to address a wide range of issues, such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems, substance abuse, and other emotional or psychological concerns.
Additionally, the EAP conducts workshops and training sessions on various topics, such as stress management, conflict resolution, communication skills, and overall well-being.

Boston Centers for Youth & Families City Hall Childcare Program is a licensed and accredited childcare provider located in Boston City Hall. It is a full-day, year-round program for children aged 3 months to 7 years that have a legal parent/guardian who is a City of Boston employee. Educational, recreational, and creative activities are provided and nutritious breakfasts and snacks are served.
The Childcare Program maintains a waitlist for families seeking to enroll. We recommend submitting the waitlist application as soon as you know you will need child care.

If you are enrolled with Mass General Brigham Health Plan (formerly AllWays Health Partners) or Blue Cross Blue Shield through the City of Boston, your health care plan may reimburse you up to $150/year towards qualifying fitness activities, products, or services, including active mobility vehicles (bikes, cargo bikes, and scooters), equipment, and maintenance!
DetecTogether is a national nonprofit that goes beyond cancer prevention to teach people how to detect cancer early and get better overall healthcare. As part of the 3 Steps Detect early cancer detection program, City employees and their families have access to a library of micro-courses (average 6 min. per module) that you can take from your phone, computer or tablet.

Through the City of Boston’s MBTA Passport Program, the City covers 65% of the cost of your monthly MBTA pass (up to $232), with the remaining portion deducted from your paycheck using pre-tax dollars. This not only reduces your commuting costs but also lowers your taxable income, providing additional savings on your yearly taxes.
To enroll, submit your request through the Beacon portal by selecting the MBTA Passport Program tile (pictured right) and completing the online form. It may take up to two months for your first pass to arrive, depending on when you enroll. Be sure to check the enrollment schedule (below) to know when you will be able to use your pass.

2025 MBTA PASSPORT ENROLLMENT SCHEDULE
When you enroll in the MBTA Passport Program, your payroll deduction is processed first, and only after it runs can the City place an order from the MBTA for your pass. Since passes are ordered in bulk on a fixed schedule, it can take up to two months for your first pass to arrive, depending on when you enroll. To avoid delays, check the enrollment schedule and plan ahead for when you'll receive an active pass:
The City of Boston offers free or discounted Bluebikes memberships to our employees.
Bluebikes, Metro Boston's public bike share program, consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations throughout the city. The bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any other station in the system, making them ideal for one-way trips. It’s a fun, affordable and convenient transportation option for quick trips around town. For more information about the Bluebikes system, visit boston.gov/bluebikes.
Full-time, benefits-eligible City of Boston employees may enroll for a free membership and will receive a Bluebikes pass annually at no cost. Part-time benefits-eligible and non-benefits-eligible employees from all City of Boston departments/agencies may enroll for a reduced-cost membership and will receive a Bluebikes pass for $60 annually.

Roxbury Community College Voucher:
Members of A.F.S.C.M.E city-wide may attend up to two (2) courses per semester at Roxbury Community College.
UMass/Boston Voucher:
Members of A.F.S.C.M.E city-wide may attend up to two (2) courses per semester at UMASS Boston.
Wentworth Voucher:
