Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! This will be my 6th year of teaching, and I have taught all 6 years at Curtis!  I am part of a military family; my dad retired after 20 years as a K-9 officer in the Air Force and my stepdad retired as a 2-star General in the Air Force.  I lived in California until I graduated high school, then moved here to Shreveport with my "other"  parents for college.  I graduated from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2015 with a Bachelors in English and again in 2018 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching.

I am married to my husband Colton, who I met in college.  We have been  together for 10 years, and recently married in 2020!  We live in the South Highlands area with our many kitties.

In my free time, I love to watch movies, draw, paint, cook, play piano, go shopping, and go for walks around my neighborhood.

Teaching is my passion; specifically, my passion is working with children to unlock their creativity and curiosity with learning!  My classroom theme is GROWTH MINDSET because I always find a way to integrate growth mindset conversations into my teaching.  I believe that instilling a growth mindset into children, or anyone for that matter, is the key to becoming a life-long learner!
