ACT

 Students will need to take the ACT for college entrance as well as scholarship opportunities.  While the ACT may be taken at any time, the 11th-grade year is typically when students take the exam.  Please see below for the 2023-2024 state and district test dates when students will have the opportunity to take the ACT, ACT WorkKeys or Pre-ACT on campus during the school day for free.  In addition, ACT offers several national testing dates each year.  The national ACT (Saturday test) is given on the Haughton High School campus during the months of September, October, December, and April. 

ACT Fee Waivers

ACT fee waivers are available for the national test dates to 11th and 12th-grade students who meet the economic need eligibility requirement.  ACT Fee Waivers can be obtained from Mrs. Stallcup in A174 or by e-mail request.  Eligible students may receive a maximum of four (4) waivers.  Waivers cover the exam fee, late registration fee (if applicable), and include a free 6-month subscription to the Official ACT Self-Paced Course, Powered by Kaplan, a $124 value.

Please register by this deadline to avoid late fees.  Late registration will be available through March 22, but late fees will apply.

Students must go to https://my.act.org/ to register for national test dates.  

The school code for Haughton High School is 191170.  Make sure you send your scores to the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (code 1595) if you are trying to qualify for TOPS (Taylor Opportunity Program for Students) awards.

Get Prepared

Haughton High School students have access to the IXL learning platform.  IXL offers personalized study plans for the ACT.  Students can enter their scores from a previous or practice test, and IXL creates a personalized study plan that guides each student to the specific concepts they need to review to boost their scores.

Get Started:

• Log in to Clever at https://clever.com/in/bossier

• Use your @bossierstudents Google Credentials

• Select the IXL icon in the Clever dashboard

• Select the Learning link at the top and choose Test prep from the Skill plans list.

• Choose the drop-down arrow next to ACT and select Create your own study plan.

Haughton High School students have access to Albert.io to assist them with preparing for the ACT.

To log in to Albert.io 

• You can log in through Clever or go directly to https://www.albert.io

• Log in using your @bossierstudents Google Credentials

• Once logged in, select the Library link at the top.  Choose your course from the list of High School subject areas on the left.  

• Select "Test Prep" to access all High School Test prep content.  Practice questions are available for individual use, but the assessments must be assigned by a teacher.

ACT Academy is a free online learning tool that includes test practice resources designed to help students master the skills they need to improve their ACT scores and succeed in college and career. Here’s how it works:

2. Explore resources for K–12 subjects or for ACT prep

3. Take quizzes on targeted subjects to test your knowledge. An official ACT practice test is also included.

4. Track your scores and practice on the areas you need help in

5. Check in daily and follow the recommended steps for improvement
