ClassDojo serves two purposes!
1. Once enrolled in my class, each student will acquire their own ClassDojo identification. Once each student has their own identification, a parent or guardian can attach themselves to their child's ClassDojo identification. Through this, you can keep up with your child's behavior within my classroom. Each school week, no matter the amount of days within the week, each student begins with 25 points. Students may lose and gain points depending on behavior. Students may lose points for behaviors, such as disrespecting myself or their classmates, excessive talking, off-task, not following directions, or deliberately choosing not to work or participate. Students may gain points for staying on-task, volunteering for various activities, or following directions. The number they have out of 25 at the end of the week will go into the grade book as a "Classwork" assignment. For example, if a student is deducted two points for excessively talking and not following direction, the student would have a 23/25 for their behavior grade at the conclusion of the week. This allows the students to be accountable for their behavior within the classroom.
*Once I have the students enrolled, I will attach the PDF for each class below, where you can locate your child's name to connect to their account.
2. ClassDojo is also how I communicate the most with parents over various things, such as assignments, Accelerated Reader, homework, or any concerns I may have. Once you connect to your child's account, I highly recommend setting up mobile notifications or having my announcements sent to you via text message. If you have questions concerning how to do that, please let me know, and I would be glad to assist you!
