SERVICE Gardeners and Butterfly Lovers - this SERVICE project is for you! Help tend our Hillsborough Girl Scouts Pollinator Garden. One sign up = One month of work! Tending to this garden means coming EACH WEEK OF THE MONTH to weed and refresh the hummingbird feeder. Do it as a family! Do it as a troop! This is an SU72 Community Service Award activity. SERVICE HES STEAM Fair Volunteers (5th grade and older) - Fri May 8 6:30 - 9 PM- The HSA of Hillsborough Elementary School is looking for girls to assist at their STEAM fair. Girls may use this either as their LAST event for the 2026 SU72 Community Service Award or put it towards next year. Please note that if you use it for this year, you'll need to submit for your award by May 15th! Sign up here.

SERVICE Memorial Day Cards (D/B) - Wed May 13 6:30pm-7:30pm Library Program Room A - Looking for Daisies and Brownies who need ONE MORE event to earn their 2026 SU72 Community Service award to color cards for Memorial Day breakfast. SERVICE Gold Award project (J/C/S/A): Sally S of Troop 62308 is focused on Mental Health Awareness Through Art. At the BoroSafe Hope for Tomorrow event on May 14, she will be holding a mural painting activity for the people who attend and needs volunteers to assist. Sign up here

SERVICE Memorial Day Breakfast Volunteers (9th grade and older) - Sat May 23 7 - 9 AM - Looking for older girls to assist with the Veterans breakfast during the Memorial Day parade. This event counts towards the 2027 SU72 Community Service Award. Sign up here.
SERVICE Memorial Day Parade - Sat May 23 (All levels) - Troops and girls are encouraged to walk in the Hillsborough Memorial Day Parade! This counts for Hearts of Service! Sign up here
AWARDS Mark your calendars! Our Annual Court of Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 29th at 7 pm in the ARIS Cafeteria. We are excited to recognize our Hillsborough Girl Scouts who have earned their Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards as well as those who have earned the National Leadership & Advocacy Awards (Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors) and ALL level Girl Scouts who have earned our own SU72 Community Service Award. In addition, we will recognize adult leaders and volunteers who received GSHNJ Council Adult Achievement Awards, our own SU Outstanding Volunteer Award and tenure awards. Please review and complete the following forms for our SU records and to be recognized at our Awards Ceremony. NOTE: Some of these forms are to be filled out by parents/girls rather than troop leaders as many are individually earned. The deadline to complete any of our SU72 forms below is MAY 15.
Years of Service - Leaders, if you are celebrating a 5 year interval anniversary (5, 10, 15, etc) as a troop leader/SU team member, please complete THIS FORM if you haven't done so yet . NOTE: if you started with your troop when they were 1st year Daisies, you should be celebrating 5 years when they are 1st year Juniors and 10 years when they are 1st year Seniors.
Outstanding Volunteer Award - Leaders, do you have parents (non-leader parents) who have been especially giving of their time and dedication to Girl Scouts (cookie and/or nut manager parents, parents who have volunteered to take care of troop financials or parents who have organized service projects or other activities for the troop)? If so, please complete THIS FORM. NOTE: Leaders should not be submitted for this award as leaders are eligible for Leader specific awards at both the Council and National level.
SU72 Community Service Award - ALL level Girl Scouts are eligible to receive this award. THIS FORM should be completed if they have participated in 5 or more of the eligible activities (only listed activities are eligible).
Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards - If your troop or any of the girls in your troop completed or plans to complete their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award project by June 30th, please complete THIS FORM. NOTE: Only one form needs to be completed per project. IMPORTANT: You must ALSO complete the required GSHNJ paperwork if you haven't done so already (this is separate from our SU72 form). Please refer to the gshnj.org website for those forms.
National Leadership & Advocacy Awards (Junior, Cadette, Senior & Ambassador Girl Scouts) - Refer HERE for more details and to see if you qualify). Complete THIS FORM if you have earned any of these awards.

Save the Date! Our annual All for Fall Celebration will be held on Sunday, October 12th, 2026. This event is particularly great for new leaders, new Girl Scouts and bridging Girl Scouts. Look out for more information and how to register in September.
Fall Camping-Co-Op: Friday October 16th-Sunday October 18th at Camp Oak Spring, All Levels. Camping will be in bring-your-own tents or Oak Spring platform tents (canvas tent on a wooden deck) and all events will be planned by and hosted by camp participants (girl led)! Here is the flyer for more details. Register to hold your spot with a $50 deposit no later than May 31st using this form: Sign up here. We'll collect the names of your campers and the balance of payment ($35/girl, $17.50/adult) in September.
National/Council Activities:
GSHNJ Calendar of Events including hikes, and other fun events
GSHNJ Clubs/Teams: Learn more about Council-run special interest groups/teams for Girl Scouts including Family Ramblers (for girls & their families), SheStormz Robotics Team, Astronomy Club, Media Girls, and the HNJGIRL Advisory Board. These clubs/teams are independent of individual troop activities.
