[Step 2] Understanding the Interface

1. Section & Station Selector

Customise KDS screens by station or course (e.g., Kitchen, Bar, Mains). Chefs only see relevant orders.

2. Live Order Summary

A real-time summary of active orders, items, and Starters/Mains currently in progress. 

3. Category Quick-Filters

Instantly filter dockets by category to isolate specific item groups. 

4. Completed Items Toggle (Show All)

Toggles the visibility of completed items within a ticket (does not recall fully cleared orders). 

5. System & Display Settings

Access the configuration menu to customise font sizes, sound alerts, and kitchen preferences.

2.Order Ticket Layout & Details 

1. Priority Indicator

Highlights orders marked as high priority. 

2. Top Row (Order Ticket Header)

Displays Table Number, Order Count, and Guest Count. 

3. Second Row (Time & Control)

Displays Order Time, Elapsed Time (in brackets), and an Admin Button. 

4. Category Dividers

Gray boxes that group items by course (e.g., Starters, Mains).

Order Status & Color Indicators 

On the KDS, the changing colours of the order tickets notify you of item statuses or required actions. Please navigate to the linked 'Order Status & Colour Indicators' page to view a detailed breakdown of what each colour represents.
