My name is Shevonne Mennuti. I have been a teacher since 2004 and I started my career in Edison as a fourth grade teacher. After my family and I moved a bit further south, I resigned from the Edison Township BOE to begin teaching in Bordentown in 2014 where I worked as a fifth grade math and science teacher. I have my Master's in Early Childhood Education and I recently earned my Gifted Education Certification from Rutgers University.
I am beyond thrilled to teach Bordentown's Elementary Gifted Program. This program focus on each students' individuality while also focusing on our connection to one another as global citizens. I believe that the time with my students should be purposeful and rich, full of opportunities for all of us to grow and learn. We are going to have so much fun as we delve into exciting units!
My favorite subject is math, although I am not sure I could pick a second place winner as I love reading, writing, science, and technology quite a lot as well. My husband and I have a son in first grade and a son in third grade; we love visiting museums, swimming, bike riding, fishing, crabbing, and taking nature walks. Whenever I have free time, I like to spend it reading, dancing, and eating at all sorts of restaurants.
It is my goal to make the gifted and talented classes enjoyable and educational. I promise to work my hardest so that all students feel that their time with me feeds their curiosity and love of learning. I am thoroughly looking forward to becoming a part of each student's journey and nurturing their talents.
