BLOOMZ

TheBLOOMZ App used at school is a visual behavior monitoring tool. Students clip up and are continuously praised after exemplifying positive behavior above and beyond expectation. Students begin the day with 0 points and gain or lose points based on behaviors throughout the day.  This allows them to self monitor their behavior and make changes if needed.  Students are rewarded when they gain positive points, and have consequences for losing points below 0. Furthermore, at Yealey, we make a conscious effort to praise students at a ratio between 5/1 to 7/1 (positive to negative).  This shifts the focus to students getting that attention they yearn for from positive behaviors. Not from getting the attention  they need (or getting out of work) from the negative.
