Coach Davidson is a 9th-year Health & Physical Education teacher at Conner High School. A 2010 graduate of Fairfield Local High School and 2015 alumnus of Morehead State University, Davidson began running cross country in 7th grade under Coach Raymond Friend. He competed in Ohio’s Southern Hills League (now SHAC), where he earned two All-SHL honors and was named All-Highland County twice as well.
In 2011, Davidson served as an assistant coach at Fairfield Local under Coach Friend, but he wouldn’t return to coaching until the spring of 2022, joining Conner’s staff under back-to-back 3A cross country state champion coach, Ian Johnstone. Following Coach Johnstone’s retirement in the summer of 2023, Davidson became the head coach of Conner’s boys cross country team and now also serves as an assistant track and field coach, primarily working with distance runners.
Although Coach Davidson stopped competing after high school, he resumed running in his late 20s and continues into his 30s. He holds lifetime PRs of 16:17 in the 5K, 1:13:52 in the half marathon, and 2:36:02 in the full marathon. He has competed in two World Major Marathons—Boston and Chicago in 2023—and placed 13th overall in Cincinnati’s Flying Pig Marathon in 2024.
