Coach Schnieders is a Mathematics and Statistics teacher at Conner High School. A 2002 graduate of Elder High School and a 2006 alumnus of Bellarmine University, "Schnieds" spent four years at each institution competing from 1998 to 2006 in cross country and track, focusing on distance events. While at Bellarmine, Schnieds switched his focus to the decathlon, which is a 10-event medley split between two days. The events include the 100-meter run, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400-meter run, 110-meter hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500-meter run.
Schnieders began his coaching career during the 2008–2009 school year at Boone County High School as an assistant boys’ track and field coach. Soon after, he made a building change within the district and, in 2011, took over as the Conner Girls' Cross Country coach. He currently heads both the boys’ and girls’ track teams.
Coach Schnieders holds high school personal records (PRs) of 4:56 in the 1600m, 10:32 in the 3200m, and 17:08 in the 5K. Perhaps our favorite running fun fact about Schnieds is that he has run the famous Cincinnati Thanksgiving 10K for 27 consecutive years, starting in 1998!
