This guide will assist you in setting up your new Windows-based Dell computer right out of the box. The instructions assume that the laptop is configured to be set up using AutoPilot.
Wi-Fi (or Wired) internet connection
For the setup of your computer we recommend you to use Wi-Fi or a Wired internet connection. Although you can provision the device and set it up on a mobile data personal hotspot, it takes a lot of data, it may be slower, and is generally less reliable than using Wi-Fi. In this document we will use Wi-Fi to set up the device as it is most common.
Power supply
Please ensure that you connect the power supply provided with your computer to the device before beginning the setup process.
Mobile device for Okta (Multi-Factor) Setup
Services we use require you to authenticate using multi-factor authentication from outside of the office. You must have a smartphone (iOS or Android) ready to download and set up Okta Verify, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store respectively.
The steps for configuring your Windows laptop are outlined below. Please follow all the steps to ensure proper functioning of your device as well as to ensure that you get access to our network and all the services you need after you have completed the setup of your computer.
If you are new to Booking.com, you will be asked to create your Okta account during the setup process. Okta is the Identity Management system used by Booking.com. With an Okta account you will be able to identify yourself and get automatically logged in to many Booking.com tools and systems. One of these tools is our VPN software, GlobalProtect. With GlobalProtect you will be able to connect to the Booking.com network using your own credentials and work as if you were in the office.
Follow the below steps to configure your Windows laptop and set up your Okta account:
Connect the power supply and switch on the computer.
You will need to go through the initial setup process which includes:
Region selection
Keyboard layouts
Connecting to your network. Make sure to select Connect Automatically.
When connecting from the office, please connect to the Guest network.
The computer will do some initial setup and will restart.
Select the Wi-Fi network you are going to use to set up your Windows machine.
When setting your laptop up from home, select your home network and proceed to step 4.
If you are in office, you will have two options when connecting to BK-Guest Wi-Fi:

Follow the onscreen steps. For more information about Okta setup click HERE.
If you already have an Okta account and changed your password, please log in as a current employee.
Current Employees:
Select Get push notification and acknowledgde it on your mobile device.
After completing authentication your computer will need to run through the process of setting up Windows and installing internal applications.
This may take some time. Wait for the entire process to finish.
The required setup is now complete. Click Next.
Please proceed to the next section: II - Windows Hello
Now that your device is configured, you'll be asked to set up Windows Hello.
Windows Hello replaces passwords with strong two-factor authentication on devices. This authentication consists of a new type of user credential which is tied to a particular device and uses a biometric (fingerprint) or PIN.
Click Yes, set up to start the setup.
If your device allows for biometric authentication (face or fingerprint identification), you will be prompted to set it up.
This step is optional but is highly recommended. It can be skipped if you would prefer not to set up biometric authentication.
Setting up a PIN code is mandatory and cannot be skipped. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
Note that you may be asked to authenticate through Okta once again to set up your PIN
Wait for the final setup steps to complete. Once you see your desktop this is all done.
You can now proceed with the next section: III - Set up Okta Fastpass.
Okta FastPass is the main and mandatory authentication method to log into Booking.com applications and systems. This method provides additional security and allows users to sign in to Okta without using a password. You can combine Okta FastPass with device-level biometrics to avoid putting in your password and getting additional prompts when accessing your Booking.com apps.
Although Okta FastPass can be used with a Windows PIN, it is strongly recommended to set up biometric authentication in Windows Hello (see Section II above) to avoid additional MFA prompts.
Once on the desktop, click the Start menu.
Start typing Okta Verify until the program appears in the list.
Click Okta Verify.
Click Get started.
Read the text on how it works and click Next.
Enter okta.booking.com in the sign-in URL text box and click Next.
You are asked to authenticate with your Booking.com credentials:
Enter your @booking.com email address.
Verify with an Okta Verify Push notification on your phone.
Click Enable.
You are now asked to confirm your identity. This can be done with your Windows PIN or the biometric authentication method (face or fingerprint) that was set up earlier in Windows Hello.
Okta FastPass with Okta Verify has now been successfully set up on your computer. Note that you can only use this method on THIS computer as it is bound to the device.
You can now proceed with the next section: IV - Connect to the Booking.com office network with GlobalProtect.
In order to get access to the Booking.com systems, tools and services, you will need to establish a VPN connection with the Booking.com network. We will do this with GlobalProtect and Okta.
When you are currently in an office, you may be already connected to the corporate network. Make sure to still follow the steps below to launch the app. This will ensure the app launched every time you start your computer.
Once on the desktop, click the Start menu.
Start typing GlobalProtect until the program appears in the list.
Click GlobalProtect.
A window in the bottom right will open, click Connect.
Note: The default VPN portal address is gp.booking.com. In case you are working for BTL/Trips please connect to tbu-gp.booking.com.
In your browser a new tab will open. Enter your @booking.com email address.
If prompted with a pop-up window, click Open Okta Verify.
You can have your browser automatically open Okta Verify by ticking the box first:
Authenticate using Okta FastPass. A pop-up box will open asking you to authenticate. Depending on what was set up, use your face, fingerprint or PIN to do so.
Note: In case Biometrics was not enabled with Okta FastPass you will be asked to authenticate with your password and potentially a secondary MFA method.
If prompted with a pop-up Window, click Open Globalprotect.
You can have your browser automatically open Globalprotect by ticking the box first:
You are now connected to our network through VPN.
You can now proceed with the last section: V - Log in to Chrome.
In order to get access to your Email, Calendar, Google Drive and other Booking.com web tools you will need to log into Chrome.
Open Google Chrome.
Click on the User Profile icon at the top right.
Click Turn on sync...
Enter your @booking.com email address.
Click Link data.
Click Yes, I'm in.
You have now logged into Chrome and you will be able to access your Email, Calendar, Google Drive and other web tools as normal.
