When you are new to Booking.com and it is the first time you log into Okta, there are 2 things that you are prompted to do:
Change the temporary password you were given and set a new one. This new password will be valid for a year.
Set up Okta Verify Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
Follow the steps below to set up both:
After entering your email and temporary password you are prompted to change the password as the temporary password can only be used the 1st time you log in.
In the first box, enter a NEW 16-character password.
In the second box, re-enter the same password again to confirm
Click Change Password.
Your password has now been changed and you should only use this NEW password from now on. This password will be valid for 1 year, however it can be changed in the meantime.
After setting up your password you are prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication. For this you will need a Mobile Device.
Click Setup under Okta Verify.
At the bottom of the screen, select set up Okta Verify on a mobile device.
At the bottom of the screen, select set up Okta Verify on a mobile device.
You will be presented with a QR code on your computer/tablet.
On your mobile phone, open Okta Verify.
If you do not have the app, download the Okta Verify app from the appropriate app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store).
Tap Get Started.
Click Next.
Click Add Account.
Tap Organization for the Account Type.
Choose Skip when prompted to add an account from another device.
Now you can, Scan the QR code that is displayed on your computer/tablet screen.
Select Yes, Ready to Scan. If prompted, please allow the app to use the camera.
Scan the QR code.
Tap Done.
You can set up an additional factor or click Set up later to finish.
If you are prompted for a secondary email, enter in a personal email.
(Make sure to confirm it via the email that Okta will send to that address).
